My Family: Christmas Portraits

Time never slows down.  In fact, with every passing year, it seems to speed by just a little bit quicker.  I blink and my nephews have grown inches, their vocabulary expanding at an exponential rate and their abilities ever astounding.  Sometimes I want it to stop.  To just freeze a moment of it all.  To capture the joy of simply living.

For this very reason I insist on taking family portraits at least once a year.  There are times when it's hard to get us all together.  And times when its even HARDER to get everyone to look at the camera, but that doesn't stop us from doing it anyway.

This year?  This year it only took us TWO shots to capture the family portrait.  If you can imagine how hard it is to have a two year old stare at a camera on a tripod when no one is standing behind it, you'll understand just how impressive it is that it only took us two attempts.

I love watching Cameron's expression.  I swear, he does this just for me (or I like to think that anyway).

I love these two.  They have shown me over and over again what love looks like.  How a man takes care of his wife and how she adores him in reply.  After seven and a half years of marriage they still act like newlyweds.

Could Shayna and I have gotten any luckier with the men who married us?

Oh how I love my family.  I hope we continue to make memories and portraits every year.
