At a coffee shop downtown, I sat with my hot cup of tea and drank in the warmth of the environment surrounding me. It was the first chilly night of the season and I welcomed the hot cup in my hands. In a city such as ours, I could sit back and people watch for hours. I saw students come and go, some settling down in a corner, laptop or sketchbook in hand, with a night's worth of work planned. I saw businessmen bustle in after a long day, take a cup of coffee and rush back out. I saw runners zip past the windows, their eyes only focused on the path in front of them. I saw skateboarders and bicyclists, tourists and locals.
All the while I sipped my tea and watched.
