Waking Up on a Cold Morning

Who would have thought the temperature could fluctuate so drastically in a matter of days?  Going to bed Thursday night, there was light breeze blowing through the windows.  The heat turned off and the windows open, I thought how nice the evening would be.  Instead, I woke up Friday morning curled up in a little ball burrowing into Jason's back to keep warm.  What happen??  Yes, I whined and refused to get out of bed.  It sounded something along the lines of but I don't wannnnttt to!!!  With three exclamation points included. The sound of the alarm brought the annoying reality that I had to get out of bed and face the cold.

But best part about a cold fall day?  Marshmellows.  I realize that on any given day I don't need cold temperatures as motivation for eating them, BUT they are best when served with a cup of hot chocolate.  And that is always more appealing on a cold day.  After a long day at work, I put the kettle on and waited.  You could hear the water boiling, but its ruined if you take it off the stove before the kettle starts squealing.  Isn't that the whole point of having a kettle that squeals?  C'mon, you know you do the same thing.  Hot chocolate stirred in, then came the marshmellows.  In which Jason turned to me with that sarcastic grin on his face that he wears too often and said, "I sense that you like marshmellows."  So?  I put a few in the cup.  Ok, more than a few.  Ok, ok A LOT more than a few.

And I eat the few more that fall onto the counter.

Don't judge me.
