We Watched the Sun Set

If I've come to take anything away from the tragic loss of Steve Jobs, it is to take in the moments.  To enjoy the time we have.  To not push things off to a tomorrow that none of us are certain we will have.  In his now infamous Stanford commencement speech his stated:
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition."

Three weeks ago Jason and I sat and watched the sun set in front of Notre Dame.  Sure, there were plenty of things we could have been doing instead.  Plenty of architectural marvels yet to see.  But instead we sat.  Together.

We didn't take the trip other's told us to take.  We didn't always see the sites other's told us to see.  We took the kind of trip we wanted to take.

And that night we wanted to remember the people and that city.  The feel of the air at dusk.  The glow of the buildings against the changing colors of the sky.

And so we sat.  Together.
