The Only Goal I Set This Year

Every year I make a list.  I don't know that I would call it a New Year's Resolution list though.  It's a list I make toward the end of the year in preparation for the year to come.  All the things I hope to accomplish.  (ok, yes, this is starting to sound like a Resolution list...)  Sometimes these goals are personal, sometimes they're for my business.  And to be honest, sometimes I don't always achieve them.  But I make them none-the-less.  They give me something to work towards, to motivate myself to do something more and sometimes greater than I thought I was capable of.

This year's list was simple.  It only contained one goal.  But for me, that was enough.  I wanted to go to Paris.

I've been dreaming about this trip for as long as I can remember.  Even my family will attest to that.  Sometimes I thought I'd never actually go, that the pictures I had would only ever be that: someone else's pictures.  But then this year happened.  My life found a new balance and distant goals didn't seem so unachievable anymore.  I suddenly found myself with someone beside me who shared those goals.

So tomorrow we go, my best friend and I, on a trip that seems like a dream I still haven't woken from.

  1. Lyndi, I wish you both a fabulous time in Paris! What a great goal for 2011!!!
Dan and I were there just a few months ago (and I was there for a week or so by myself when I was 19) -- it's just one of the best places on earth. I'm sure you'll go back more than once. The Louvre is endlessly interesting and the smaller galleries all over the city are amazing. The food, the people, the churches, the cemeteries, the fashion, the music, the spirit and the history of the city are so intriguing. Bon Voyage!
