Touring Savannah via Food

I realize that I know more about this city than most people will EVER care to know.  I've admitted that my knowledge turns more into rambling than anything else.  Unfortunately when I have a captivated audience, it gets worse.  Much worse.  Jason's mom came to stay with us for the weekend, but didn't know she was in store for an edible tour of the city.

We started off the day at our favorite local bakery.  Banana pudding, ham and cheese croissants and red velvet cupcakes.
After walking off breakfast we stopped by the Savannah Bee Company.  I'm a HUGE advocate of buying locally.  It's that much easier when the local food is fantastic.  And in Savannah it definitely is.  After the free honey tasting, it hard to walk away without buying any of the honey.

If honey tasting weren't enough, we also stopped by a shop that locally bottle fresh oil and vinegar.  I've never been to a oil and vinegar tasting before.  But w.o.w.  Who would have thought that vinegar in a cup would taste so good.  Yep.  Bought some of that too.

To sweeten the day, we headed to City Market and into the Candy Shop.
Did I mention that we actually ate full meals too?  Pizza and pasta.  I'm positive I was a big fat Italian man in my former life.
