Mackenzie: Trading in the Pink Bow

Given the opportunity to shoot somewhere new, I always jump at the chance.  So when I was asked to spend a recent afternoon shooting at an ATV track, let's just say I was all in. I'll admit that maybe half of my excitement for this shoot came from growing up in a city.  Off-roading on dirt tracks is a lot easier to do when you're in the back woods of southern Georgia.  Not so easy in the suburbs of eastern Pennsylvania.  Maybe had I grown up somewhere like this I too would have done as Mackenzie did on Sunday, traded in my little pink bow for a motocross helmet.  Maybe not.  But it's still fun to think about.

So bring on the dirt.  Bring on the heat.  And bring on the training wheels.

That right there is a girl you don't want to mess with.  She means business.

Watching her through every turn, and encouraging her up and over every hill, her dad was never far away.  It was easy to see how much she adored these Sundays with him.  And that he likewise felt the same.

Training wheels and all, this is the only five year old I know who would pass a kid three times her size on the inside track.

After a little bit of sunburn and a heavy coat of dust covering my camera, that little girl inside me was still wanting to get out on that track and ride too.  I mean, come on, that looked like fun.

Well, at least for now, I'll just stick with the photos...
