My Attempt at Musical Greatness

Music is one of the greatest things out there.  I love it.  I can listen to it, I can sing it, I can blast it driving down the highway at one o'clock in the morning.  Can I play it?  Not a chance.  My musical gifts are severely lacking in that district.  Over the years I've attempted (with much enthusiasm, I might add) a variety of instruments.  The obvious choice would the piano.  I've often had people comment that my long fingers were designed to play such an instrument.  However, when I lay my hands on the keys, they stumble and tumble like a oaf in the forest.

My most recent musical endeavor was the bass guitar.  Now, let's be honest.  Out of all the instruments in the world, the bass is probably the least suited for me.  Though I was determined non-the-less.  I picked songs I like (so as to not easily bore with the pursuit), I practiced at different times of day, I had the most patient of all teachers.

I'm going to pretend and argue that my failure was directly related to the size of the instrument (they were huge in comparison to me), not my lack of abilities.

That pretending will only get me so far.

Utter failure would be to put it nicely.  Well, I suppose that's one less thing I can say, "I need to try that!" to.  On the plus side, my successful failure has given me the opportunity to play (and photograph) some simply amazing bass guitars.
At least I have that plus...
